At the beginning of the month Pop from the Block featured one 'cool' musical prodigy in the name of Richard Jay, whom I imagine to be a little manic in the studio writing, recording, and mastering his tracks. Hi, Richard. How's it going?
Splendid, thanks! First off, let me just ask. How do you manage to do everything on your tracks from the writing down to the mastering?
How would you describe your music?
What do you think of the sudden outbreak of awfully talented young acts like yourself in the music industry?

Splendid, thanks! First off, let me just ask. How do you manage to do everything on your tracks from the writing down to the mastering?
It just sort of comes together. I like to have control over my sound, and every part of the production effects the sound, so I stay involved with every stage, that's just how I rooooll ha!
How would you describe your music?
Electro Pop Love Making.
What do you think of the sudden outbreak of awfully talented young acts like yourself in the music industry?
I think it's great! But I don't think the young acts are getting the right kind of attention deserved. People don't seem to take seem to take us seriously enough and are kinda like, "Oooh it's another one of those..."
So can we expect an album anytime soon?
I hope so! I'm working on new material all the time and hopefully collaborating with some great artists soon.
I don't want to rush an album and put a bunch of songs out that don't mean anything to me, but my laptop is literally full of new songs so hopefully not long!
How does it feel like when various topnotch media people refer to you as "the next big thing"?
It's cool, I know a lot of people would say it feels weird but to be honest it's more of an honor to be referred to like that.
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Ooooo. Doing well, with a few albums out, making great music, hopefully beginning to move in to the film industry as well.
What's the song you're most proud of writing?
I don't know if it's the one I'm most proud of, but the one most people seem to like is "Today".
It's kinda hard to pick a favorite, it's like picking your favorite child...
