Every since Careful Confessions, I've been impressed with Sara Bareilles' witty lyrics, mad piano skills, and amazing vocals. After Little Voice got accepted by the ever-finicky critics, Sara B. is onto her next album, and she's giving us the first taste with King of Anything. I admire Sara for these sort of tracks: witty, angst-ridden, and piano-led (as always). Even if she said that this is "sort of what Love Song was", King of Anything is not as catchy as its Little Voice counterpart, though Sara seems to be having as much fun on this. The chorus is as hilarious and brilliant as it could get, "So you dare tell me who to be? Who died and made you king of anything?"
