Ready yourselves for Shawn Fisher, a feisty rock act with a tinge of country, as he prepares to take over radio waves and stages in the US with his band, the Jukebox Gypsies. Shawn started as a solo acoustic artist in his teens, working the clubs and coffeehouses in his hometown Jacksonville, and eventually turned it up a notch and became one of the top acts in Jacksonville, along with familiar names like Gavin DeGraw and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

In 2008, his band recorded an independent self-titled EP which went on to sell 5,000 copies. This Is Me, Shawn's Universal Republic (think 3 Doors Down, Colbie Caillat, Jack Johnson) debut, is a radio-tailored, fist-in-the-air track begging for a full blast with its sweeping chorus and go-getting verses. His five-song EP was reworked by Grammy-winning producer John Fields (Miley Cyrus, Pink) and the result is one pop/rock disc that reminds me of Jonas Brothers-style production, only deeper and a little more country.

Constantly touring, Shawn Fisher and the Jukebox Gypsies are hellbent on cracking the industry, and well enough, they get compliments from various social networks. The band is quick to keep in touch, spending as much as eight hours a day on Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace.

In a nutshell, Shawn Fisher sounds like Nick Jonas minus the cheesiness, with a sprinkle of angst and a touch of country. His EP is nothing short of decent, and all of the tracks are listenable, if not analogous in some aspects. Have a listen to three tracks below.
